I am sorry, but the stupidity of the people in the Wall Street financial industry never ceases to amaze. An official pronouncement of a condition which began a year ago, and which the average consumer could have told you was an economic decline, sparks a “cratering” of the stock market?
["Cratering," by the way, is an actual, accepted, action verb, rather than a genuine McCain-ism. Imagine my disappointment.]
This most recent evidence of mass idiocy, along with recent atrocious acts of inhumanity associated with holiday season shopping, have merely strengthened my position that capitalism is a failed system of governance. Any system which requires its citizens to buy medical care is fundamentally insane.
I’ve often wondered……if our society so values the notion of self-defence that we pay for it as a public service, then how can we value any less the health and well-being of that very populace we protect through national defence?
