I heard this from a 8th grade science teacher.
Teacher: What are some of the elements of the natural world we need to live?
Student: The dark.
Teacher: The dark?
Student: Yeah, because if it were light all the time, when would anything sleep?
It does make some sense that 8th-graders would be concerned about sleeping!
