Shara, Kiki and Callie were in the kitchen, making cookies and being goofy teenage girls. I was in the basement, working on a presentation. “Safety Dance” started playing on the stereo, and Kiki yelled, “This is my song!”
I had to. I went up and said: “We danced to this when *I* was in high school.”
Then Kiki and I had a dance-off in the kitchen.

A few weeks back the song “Straight Up” (1988) from Paula Abdul came across the radio. I asked my daughter, who only knows her via “American Idol” if she recognized the singer, which she didn’t.
I said “It’s Paula Abdul”.
“Really.”
“When did she do this?” (referring to the song)
“Around 1987 or so,” I replied.
I may as well have said 1929 as the look on her face couldn’t have been any different.
“I didn’t know she was around that long ago.”
Oh well…
“I didn’t know she was around that long ago.” – HILARIOUS!
