Reminds me of a funny story…..sometime around 1997 my wife and I were at the local grocery store in Manitowoc, while visiting my grandmother.
We reached the checkout line and the bag boy was finishing with bagging our order when he asked “Would you like our free Brett Favre poster?” pointing to one on a wall a few feet away.
The poster displayed Brett standing behind a table covered with an assortment of award-winning WI cheeses. While I do not watch American football I was aware of who was Brett Favre, but always up for some fun I replied, “Brett who?”
Suddenly it was like those old EF Hutton commercials where everyone and everything comes to a screeching halt. You could have heard a pin drop and there ran across the collective minds of all within earshot “He doesn’t know who is Brett Favre? KILL HIM!!”
I acquiesced and took home the poster, where I eventually settled on placing it over my dart board. I won’t tell you what happened afterwards.
